There is a growing demand for high quality bio marine proteins in a wide range of applications, such as; additives in food, growth media for bacteria in pharmaceutical industry, feed for juvenile fish in fish farming, pet food and FPC (fish protein concentrate) as a nutritional supplement.
Depending on the quality and use of incoming raw material, it is sometimes beneficial to make fish silage, a substitute for fish meal, by adding acid to the raw material. The evaporator is applied for concentrating the silage liquid and securing long term product stability. High viscosity and undissolved material in the silage is handled without loosing production capacity.
With an increasing focus on exploiting the full potential of algae, the industry has found it a valuable resource in several applications.
While perhaps the most typical and voluminuos application lies in fuel, algae proves a valuable resource in the production of food, cosmetics and fertilizers. Through several of these applications, the nutrients are extracted from the algae, and later concentrated.
Remains of fish-products unfit for human consumption is excellent for producing fishmeal, to be used in fish feed and animal feed. After initial processing, the oil is separated, and the stickwater is evaporated. The evaporator is applied for concentrating the stickwater to prepare for full utilization in the production of fish meal. High viscosity of the stickwater is handled without loosing production capacity.
