Potato Fruit JuiceDuring production of potato starch it is essential that all equipment is available for production during the campaign. After grating, the fruit juice is evaporated to recover nutrients and to minimize storage and transportation cost. In recent years there have been more and more restrictions to the use of fruit juice directly on the fields. EPCON has expertice with evaporation of both native fruit juice, and fruit juice where proteins are seperated up front.

Steep liquids and starch slurriesWhen producing different products from grain or corn, evaporation is often required for the steep liquid and starch slurries (for instance corn steep liquid, barley steep liquid and wheat slurries). This liquid has to be evaporated at low temperature to avoid coagulation of proteins. EPCON delivers energy efficient evaporators for steep liquid and starch slurries from both grain and corn.

Sugars and syrupsIn sugar and sweetener production, evaporation is required in several process steps, with the main aim of concentrating the product liquids. EPCON has long experience in evaporation of such liquids, with examples ranging among others from corn syrups, glucose, dextrose, fructose, betaine, molasses and glycerols.

Protein liquids and stick watersWhen utilizing the residual material from poultry and meat industry, the stick waters or hydrolyzates needs to be concentrated. The concentrate is then either used as a separate product or can be dried together with the solid phase. EPCON delivers heavy duty and energy efficient solutions for concentrates of stick water and hydrolyzates.

Recovery of CIP and rinsing watersCleaning and CIP is very important within food industry. The rinsing phases often produces water containing valuable solids. EPCON has experience in evaporation of CIP and rinsing waters to recover the solids. Due to the highly efficient EPCON evaporation design, the evaporated water (condensate) is very clean and can often be discharged without further treatment.
