Pulp and Paper industryThe industry is changing the business to include a number of new products and applications. To support this on going change, new and more energy efficient process solutions are required. This also includes evaporation.
EPCON has experience and knowledge in energy efficient evaporation of several liquids such as black liqour, white liqour, black press liquids, lignin solutions and more. |
Chemical, pharma and other process industryENERGY RECOVERY
The green shift with focus on energy saving and energy recovery in process industry is an ongoing development worldwide. With both green profile and economical incentives, the potential for energy recovery in existing thermal seperation processes plants is significant. Some processes with great potential are existing evaporators, boilers, cascade evaporators and solvent distillation. The clue is to "catch" the energy at the most economical level and then by MVR heat pump technology recover this energy with significant reduced operational cost for the client as the result. The energy saving would normally be in the range of 80 to 95% |
PRODUCT CONCENTRATION
The great number of high value products and product formulations within chemical, pharma and other process industries, are undergoing many processing steps towards the final product. For processes where water or other solvents are required as input in the production line, the evaporator is often used downstream to concentrate the product or intermediate. The significant variety of liquid-/product properties means that both the overall- and detail design of evaporator plant must be carefully considered by the experienced supplier including pilot testing if required. EPCON has such knowledge and experience from evaporation of a large number of different liquids, such as ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulphate, calcium carbonate, calcium nitrate, glycerol, sodium hydroxide, and many more. |
WASTE WATER TREATMENT / SOLVENT RECOVERY
Volume reduction of waste water, concentrating valuable components in waste water or recovering used solvents are processes often well suited for MVR evaporators, which when solvents involved are combined with distillation - or stripping columns. To minimize client CAPEX and OPEX the overall process design must carefully take into considerations the actual liquid and process specification, and tailor make the optimum system related to energy consumption, investment cost and foot print. EPCON has knowledge and experience with treatment of large number of different wastewaters including different RO retentates, detergent wastewaters, leachates from mining industry and many more. |
